Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare materials, tools and equipment for woolshed activities
- Identify the required materials, tools and equipment from provided lists and supervisor's instructions
- Check all materials, tools and equipment and inform supervisor if there are insufficient or faulty items
- Use techniques when loading and unloading materials that demonstrate correct manual handling and minimise damage to the load and the vehicle
- Select and use suitable personal protective equipment
- Identify work health and safety hazards and inform supervisor
- Undertake woolshed activities as directed
- Follow instructions and directions provided by supervisor and seek clarification when necessary
- Undertake work in a safe and environmentally appropriate manner
- Carry out interactions with other workers and owners and classers in a positive and professional manner
- Move animals humanely into pens as directed
- Undertake board duties as directed
- Provide support to shearing as directed
- Provide support to wool sorting, replacing butts and wool pressing as directed
- Inform supervisor if there are problems or difficulties in completing work to required standards or timelines
- Handle materials and equipment
- Clean up on completion of woolshed activities
